3D shapes and properties. #3Dshapes#Faces#Edges#Corners Children get familiar with shapes like square, circle, oval, rectangle since their pre-school and as the grade progress, they learn 2D and 3D shapes. In grade 3, my son learns about properties of 3D shapes and the vocabularies like vertices, faces and edges are little confusing for him. I made this little animated gif to help understand face, edge and corners (vertices) of 3D shapes - square, rectangle, cylinder and triangle. We wished to add more fun to this learning and then we had an idea of picking daily use objects at home to explore the face, corners and edges of them. Different faces of cube and cuboid:  This kind of activity provides an opportunity for kids to practice and develop their skills to relate to real-time objects. I have shared the gif file here to understand the difference of face, corner and edge of cube shape. Below gif tells you to identify the face of shape and it shows there are 6 faces of cub

Landforms, Waterbodies, Maps - Third grade #xseed education#EVS# Block 19#Book : Volume 3   Description: Third graders have a Block in their EVS volume 3 book about Landforms, waterbodies, continents and Oceans. As this blog is about Pranav's learning journey and he is a great visual learner, i have made some materials for him to help learn quickly and to lay strong foundation on the concepts of landforms, waterbodies, maps ( yup... geography ) IMO, best approach to acquire knowledge is, auditorily processing the information and creating visuals using the child's imagination in the head.. plus, writing and learning always scores high as opposed to learning via PPTs .., ha ha :) , i go for visuals in case of lack of time.  I have witnessed him having great benefits through this mode of learning.. Landforms craft :  Pranav and I created a landform craft using things at home and infact that helped him get the names and structures of different landforms quickly. Waterbodies: Below
